Diamond in the Ruff is a South African model search reality show. The show features a cast of judges and fairy godmothers - experts in the beauty, magazine and modeling industry- who combined forces to groom 15 young women from inexperienced candidates into accomplished models. The candidates were both plus and slim models. The castings took place across 8 South African towns and cities.

After her parents' deaths, Ariana Alvarez is lost and can’t hold down a 9 to 5 job no matter how hard she tries, which isn’t that hard. U.S. Treasury Investigator Joe Dennison is sent to England on the trail of a gang of thieves responsible for stealing a million dollars from a U.S. Treasury vault. One of the crooks is on his way to England to spend the money on phony diamonds. Scotland Yard Inspector McClaren, assigned to work with Dennison on the case, is also working on the disappearance of Dr. Eric Miller, an atomic scientist. Dennison discovers while interviewing Miller's daughter Marlene that she is wearing a brooch containing a phony diamond, and the brooch had been made by her father.
